CCP Mayor Surendra Furtado has already moved a note to Commissioner Dipak Desai in this regard. “The Commissioner is requested to send a letter to the Secretary, General Administration Department, Government of Goa, Secretariat, Porvorim informing about the decision of the Corporation and to send a circular to all the government offices located in Panaji city and also to the in-charge of the government accommodation/quarters to pay the sanitation fees to the CCP from the current financial year April 2017,” stated the note.
Speaking to The Goan Everyday, Furtado said, “We have taken a resolution to collect house tax and sanitation fees from the current financial year onwards from government offices and the different residential apartments belonging to the government.”
Furtado, however, lamented that even though the CCP was collecting waste from residential apartment belonging to the State Government, none were paying sanitation fees to the CCP.
