The foundation stone for Phase III of Joggers Park was laid at Chicalim, marking another step towards developing the popular public space into a modern and inclusive recreational facility for residents of Dabolim and surrounding areas. Panchayats Minister Mauvin Godinho laid the foundation stone in presence of officials and residents. The new phase will focus on health, accessibility, recreation, technology and environmental sustainability. It will include wheelchair-accessible and sensory-friendly spaces, children’s play areas, a green gym and additional sit-out spaces.
The upgraded park will also have a cafeteria and food court, additional washrooms and a music den. Smart poles with Wi-Fi and CCTV surveillance, EV charging facilities and improved lighting are planned to enhance safety and convenience. The project also proposes using treated grey water for irrigation. Phase III is expected to further develop Joggers Park as a community space for fitness, recreation and social interaction, with facilities catering to children, senior citizens, fitness enthusiasts and persons with disabilities.
