Chicalim-based businessman cum hotelier Kenneth Ian Stewart Silveira filed his nomination for the Panaji by-poll.
Asked to justify his decision to contest the Panaji by-polls and contest against Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and other candidates, Silveira replied: "I decided to enter politics in December 2016 just because all politicians are taking us Goans for a ride by giving fake promises before elections."
"Goans are not fools and I will surely bring about a lot of change in Panaji, if I am elected. I have great plans for Panaji constituency and I hope the voters give me a chance to prove my worth," Silveira added.
Silveira had contested the State Assembly elections from Dabolim constituency. Panaji along with Valpoi will go for by-polls on August 23.
