The Chicalim Youth Farmers Club (CYFC) fondly recalled their mentor, the late Fr Bolmax Pereira, as he not only guided them in faith but also in the fields.

They recalled Fr Bolmax, who inspired countless young people through his strength, wisdom, and unwavering belief in the youth. To them, he was far more than a priest — he was a mentor, guide, and source of courage.

Rizzeria Pacheco remembered how Fr Bolmax taught her to be fearless, stand for what is right, and live with integrity. His words, “Two wrongs don’t make one right,” became a guiding principle in her life. She recalled how he gave young people a voice, made them feel valued, and united them with purpose and hope.

Valerie J. Afonso recalled Fr Bolmax as the first person to encourage her political curiosity and believe in her when others did not. She credited him for inspiring the CYFC and teaching her to be fearless and confident.

Jerrico Vaz said Fr Bolmax helped him discover confidence and talents he never knew he possessed.

“Though I never imagined becoming a young farmer, Fr Bolmax saw that potential in me and encouraged me to pursue it with pride,” said Jerrico.

Neola Pereira recalled Fr Bolmax’s deep love for Goa and his selfless service to people. She remembered how he trusted, guided, and supported her through every challenge, teaching her the true meaning of service and leadership.

Mercy Fernandes, an Eco Warrior and President of the Overseas CYFC Group, said Fr Bolmax inspired her to serve selflessly, care for God’s creation, and lead with humility and purpose. “His passion for youth, the environment, and Goan heritage deeply influenced my life and continues to guide my journey,” said Mercy.

Chelsea Fernandes remembered Fr Bolmax as the mentor who transformed her from a shy teenager into a confident young leader. Through the CYFC, Chelsea said Fr Bolmax taught the youth that faith meant action and inspired them to create change with courage and compassion.

Rafaad Shaikh, a student of Regina Mundi School Chicalim, recalled Fr Bolmax as a teacher who truly cared for every student.

“As an Eco Warrior, I remain grateful for the values, guidance, and kindness Fr Bolmax shared, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire generations,” he said.
