Reading out the appeal, Alinda Fernandes, termed the money invested with this firm as their parents hard-earned money saved by working in dark seas.
“It will be a curse for you if you don’t return our money peacefully,” they said, addressing the firm’s top brass. The children also appealed to the higher authorities to help them recover their parent’s money leaving aside all differences, if any.
Addressing the aggrieved investors, Dixon Vaz, said they are proceeding to Panaji to meet the investigating officers with just one strong message --- “We are not happy with the investigation .... not happy with his response. He is being protected,” Vaz told the investors.
He also appealed to all those working on ships, Gulf countries, and in the Western countries to withdraw their fixed deposits from private investment companies so as to send a “strong message” to such companies about the strength of the investors.
Vaz also appealed to officers working in senior positions on ships to come under one roof to support their cause.
Addressing the investors, Cruz Cardozo, claimed the investigation into this matter was “not proper” as the prime suspect’s mother and wife are still free. “We want them to be arrested, otherwise, they will hide information. Only then (after they are arrested) will the investigation be proper,” he remarked. Cruz said more than 500 aggrieved investors attended the meet.
