Chimbel PHC finds sewage in clogged drain at Indira Nagar

OLD GOA
The Chimbel PHC inspected a clogged drain at Indira Nagar on Wednesday, which has turned into a mosquito breeding site due to accumulation of sewage water.

Sanitary inspector Namdev Naik conducted the inspection following a complaint and will submit the report to the Chimbel PHC medical officer for further action.

A health worker accompanying Naik sprayed anti-larval solution in the accumulated sewage water to avoid breeding of mosquitoes.

The resident informed that the drain was clogged with garbage in the recent rains which had lashed the State last week, after which a complaint was lodged with the Chimbel panchayat.

“As no action was forthcoming from the panchayat authorities, a complaint was lodged with the Chimbel PHC seeking inspection and direction to the Chimbel panchayat to clean the drain,” he added.

The health authorities have informed that they will issue necessary direction to the Chimbel panchayat to clean the drain.
