The Department of Education on Tuesday directed schools to celebrate International Yoga Day on June 21 at their respective institutions.
The circular issued by Director of Education G P Hat has instructed schools to send a detailed report of the programme along with photographs to the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, which will be later forwarded to the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. It also mentions that the Ministry of AYUSH has uploaded a booklet and DVD on its website on yoga training that can be downloaded.
The fresh circular comes a day after the government withdrew its earlier circular asking all schools to send their students for a yoga drill, that included Surya Namaskar, at the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium, Taleigao on June 21.
