The Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs has raised concerns over underweight LPG cylinders, tampered safety seals, and unsafe delivery practices in Goa, urging consumers to stay alert.

Consumers should weigh cylinders during delivery using the weighing scale on the delivery vehicle, matching the tare and net weight displayed on the cylinder. Cylinders with broken or loose safety seals should not be accepted.

The department advised consumers to confirm delivery authenticity using the LPG company’s app, SMS or IVRS system and to pay only the amount printed on the delivery receipt.

Distributors are not allowed to charge extra without approval, and cylinders should be delivered at home.

Citizens have been urged to report suspected pilferage or safety issues by calling 0832-2226084/18002330606 or emailing csi-hq.goa@gov.in/dir-csca.goa@nic.in.

The department reminded that the safe distribution of LPG is a shared responsibility between suppliers and consumers.
