Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Tuesday assured of carrying out common recruitment process for jobs having common recruitment rules (RRs) so that candidates don't have to appear more than once for different jobs.
"In certain areas where RRs of recruitment are common, may be police and some other department, we will conduct a common exam and the list for the entire year will be published at one time. So in case there are 2000 vacancies, all will be listed together and will be advertised in advance before December so that people don't have to keep on answering exams," he said on the floor of the House.
He also said that 362 cases of compassionate appointments will be cleared within the next one year.
"These have not been delivered only because the vacancies available and the qualification of the person do not match. Even on compassionate appointments, it should not happen that a Commerce graduate is given a peons job. By this year-end we should be absorb all 362," he assured.
He was responding to a question on recruitment ban in government departments raised by Taleigao MLA Jennifer Monserrate.
"Even before 2012 elections, there were complaints and cases wherein back dated appointments were being done. So this time, the State Government took a decision to stop this rush of employment as it is only for the purpose of election. It may not be as per the requirement of the department," he informed.
"So on November 22, 2016, at 5 pm, ban on all recruitment processes in government departments and grant-in-aid institutions was levied. Now on July 11, government has issued memorandum which supersedes the earlier," he informed.
