If all goes well, work on two key projects in Mapusa “ new bus-stand and Tar Bridge “ may soon get going in the days to come.
Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has made his intention clear to set the ball rolling to give a boost to infrastructure development in Mapusa.
Parrikar had a meeting with Mapusa Municipal Council Chairperson Ryan Braganza and the councillors from the ruling group at his secretariat office in Porvorim on Wednesday evening.
The pre-planned meeting with Parrikar was to be held along with Urban Development Minister and Mapusa MLA Francisco D’Souza, who was held up in Mumbai.
“The CM has taken up discussion on various issues affecting Mapusa. He has also issued directions to various officers in relation to key projects,” informed Braganza.
Besides Tar Bridge and new Mapusa bus-stand, the CM also raised the issue of Mapusa market refurbishment plan, Cunchelim football ground, TCP downtown scheme and the stray cattle menace.
The CM also inquired about the sudden flooding that took place in Mapusa in the last month and the WRD works in the city.
“The meeting with the CM was very productive. Very soon, we will see changes taking place in the city,” the chairperson said.
