CM, Governor, Archbishop extend Diwali greetings

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Governor P Ashok Gajapathi Raju, and Archbishop Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrão extended Diwali greetings to Goans, highlighting peace, unity, and eco-friendly celebrations.

Sawant said Diwali symbolises the victory of light over darkness and good over evil, recalling Lord Rama’s return to Ayodhya. He urged Goans to strengthen ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Swayampurna Goa’ by supporting local products under the ‘Vocal for Local’ initiative. He appealed for the use of eco-friendly products and wished Goans a safe and bright Diwali filled with enthusiasm for progress.

Governor Raju described Diwali as a festival of light, knowledge, and goodness that strengthens family bonds and reflects Goa’s spirit of harmony and coexistence. Archbishop Ferrão and Auxiliary Bishop Simião Fernandes extended greetings on behalf of the Catholic community, wishing happiness, unity, and peace to all Hindus, and hoping the festival brings joy and togetherness.
