In a momentous event on the occasion of the 75th Republic Day, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant inaugurated two captivating exhibitions at Raj Bhavan, Dona Paula.
The first, a Vintage Cars Exhibition, is an initiative of Raj Bhavan, showcasing a remarkable 1959 Cadillac Car. The luxury limousine has a rich history of serving ceremonial functions during the Portuguese era and later at state functions post the liberation of Goa in 1961. Organized in collaboration with the Goa Vintage and Classic Vehicles Club, the exhibition offers visitors a rare glimpse into the automotive heritage of the region.
Following the vintage car showcase, the Chief Minister inaugurated the Governor’s Books Exhibition at the Old Durbar Hall in Raj Bhavan. This initiative, featuring 200 books authored by the Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai, aims to promote reading and comprehension skills among students and visitors. The diverse collection provides a valuable resource for building knowledge and fostering a love for literature.
The inaugural ceremonies were graced by the esteemed presence of Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai, Union MoS for Tourism Shripad Naik, Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho, MLA Nilesh Cabral, Chief Secretary Puneet Kumar Goel, IAS, Secretary to Governor MR M Rao, IAS, and other dignitaries. These initiatives by Raj Bhavan reflect a commitment to preserving cultural heritage and promoting intellectual pursuits in the state.
