Chief Minister Pramod Sawant released the ‘budget manual’ which breaks down the exercise of the State budget preparation.
CM Sawant said, the 186-page document prepared by the budget section of the Finance Department, is aimed at giving citizens as well as the bureaucracy a better understanding of the budget.
It will be of particular utility to government officials, the general public, academia as well as students to understand the government’s expenditure, the loans it takes, taxes it collects and so on.
Finance Secretary, Dr V Candavelou, IAS, said the manual will not only help government officials but also allow common citizens understand the nuances of the complex budgeting process in the government.
