Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, ministers, MLAs and people from various walks of life greeted Social Welfare Minister Subhash Phal Dessai on his 60th birthday on Thursday.
The celebrations began with Phal Desai offering prayers at a temple and seeking Shivaji Maharaj’s blessings, followed by a blood donation camp organised by the Sanguem BJP Mandal and JCI. He was later felicitated at Sanguem Municipal Hall.
Those who greeted him included MP Sadanand Tanawade; ministers Digambar Kamat, Mauvin Godinho and Ramesh Tawadkar; Speaker Ganesh Gaonkar; Deputy Speaker Joshua D’Souza; State BJP president Damu Naik; MLAs Altone D’Costa, Nilesh Cabral, Sankalp Amonkar, Kedar Naik, Rajesh Paldesai, Daji Salkar, Delilah Lobo and Chandrakant Shetye; and former chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar.
Sawant said Phal Dessai had done justice to the Social Welfare Department and worked to empower persons with disabilities. Kamat said the foundation stone for Paikdev Bridge would be laid in the coming days due to Phal Dessai’s persistent demand.
Phal Dessai said he would continue to work with everyone’s blessings.
