Chandrabhaga Yeshwant Parsekar (92), mother of Laxmikant Parsekar, passed away on Saturday evening.

The final rites were performed at the Harmal Hindu crematorium on Sunday.

South Goa MP Narendra Savoikar, Mormugao MLA Milind Naik, Bicholim MLA Rajesh Patnekar, ZP president Ankita Navelkar, BJP Goa State president Vinay Tendulkar, former minister Rajendra Arlekar, former speaker Anant Shet, former MLAs Ganesh Gaonkar, Rajan Naik, Sadanand Tanawade, former ZP member Deepak Kalangutkar and others, including locas also visited Parsekar and condoled him on the demise of his mother.

MILD TREMOR FELT IN GOA

A mild tremor was felt in Goa at around 11.45 pm on Saturday, but nornimmediate damages were reported in any part of the State. Initial reports indicated that tremors were felt in Panaji, Bicholim, Porvorim, Old Goa and surrounding areas.

PANAJI: According to the preliminary earthquake report from the Indian Meteorological Department, a slight intensity tremor of 4.8 magnitude was felt in the Koyna Maharashtra region. The tremor had an epicentre of Lat.17.1Â°N Long.73.8Â°E. The MET department, however, could not provide any further details when The Goancontacted their Panaji office at midnight.
