Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant Monday held a review meeting with all the HODs, including North and South Goa Collectors via video conferencing on the impact of damage by Cyclone Tauktae in the State.
The meeting was attended by Minister for Revenue Jennifer Monserrate; Minister for Power Nilesh Cabral; Minister for PWD Deepak Prabhu Pauskar; Secretary (Revenue), DGP, Both SPs , Director of Fire and Emergency Services, PCE PWD. Director Agriculture, Chief Engineer WRD among others.
Interacting with the HODs, chief minister reviewed the status of various ongoing restoration works. Sawant directed authorities of concerned departments to work on war footing to restore essential services. The chief minister also directed both the collectors to assess the damage caused to government properties and private properties like houses, vehicles, boats etc due to the cyclone.
The chief minister instructed the Agriculture department officers to visit villages and assess the damage and loss caused due to Tauktae as regards to crops, animals, etc.
The chief minister stating that interdepartmental issues need to be resolved added that coordination between Electricity, PWD, Police and Revenue officials to collect and disseminate the information so that immediate action is being initiated for repair of damage by the respective departments.
Sawant also directed PWD and Electricity authorities to prioritise the repair work on National Highway, bridges, interstate roads, restoration of power supply, etc on war footing.
The chief minister urged the collectors to coordinate and supervise the issues of restoration of various services like water supply and electricity at the earliest.
