CM rules out sealing of State border

MARGAO
While ruling out the possibility of sealing the state border with Maharashtra in view of the rising number of Covid cases in the neighbouring state, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Saturday said the only solution was taking all precautions, including social distancing and wearing masks.

More ever, he pointed out that the increasing number of cases have not been reported along the bordering areas of Maharashtra to warrant sealing. Cases have increased in Mumbai and Pune, he added.

He appealed to senior citizens and those in the age group of 45-59 years with co-morbidities to take the vaccine jab before the government brings other age groups in the exercise.

On the Narcotic Board’s continuous raids on drugs in the state, the Chief Minister said both the centre and the state have given a free hand to the law enforcing agencies to come down heavily on drugs and drug traffickers.
