PANAJIrrHe then convened a high-level meeting with senior police officials at the Curchorem police station, and those present included TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai, Curchorem MLA Nilesh Cabral, DGP Muktesh Chander, DIG Rupender Kumar, DySP Raju Raut Dessai, police inspectors of the Curchorem police station and Curchorem Traffic Police. rParrikar praised the efforts of Goa police in achieving the breakthrough, after his government was under mounting pressure to hand over the case to the CBI to tackle several incidents of desecrations within a fortnight. rParrikar also visited the Curchorem cemetery along with Vijai, Cabral and police officials. rLater speaking to media persons, the Chief Minister said he was very confident that police investigations were on the right track. rAsked if the police team would be rewarded for solving the case, he replied: “It will be decided only after completing the entire investigation.” rWhen brought to his notice the malfunctioniong CCTVs and other cameras with poor quality footage, he assured to install high definition CCTV cameras with central viewing facilities.

On receiving news that a suspect had been nabbed in the desecration case, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar cancelled his schedule for the morning and rushed to Curchorem to take stock of the situation.
