Reacting to the criticism over the government’s failure to organise Opinion Poll Day programme on January 16, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said he was preoccupied with the Covid vaccination and the IFFI function that day.

He, however, said that the government will certainly organise the Opinion Poll Day programme next year, saying it has already launched the Swayampurna Goa programme to protect the identity of Goa.

“We were all busy with the vaccination programme on January 16. Health is our priority and I was personally monitoring the vaccination from morning to evening. The same day, we had the IFFI function and hence could not hold Opinion Poll Day function,” Sawant said. He, however, sought to reassure that his government is also very much keen to protect the identity of the state, saying the Swayampurna Goa is one ambitious program launched by the government in this respect.
