MARGAO
Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar will grace the function to be held by Gomant Vidhya Niketan (GVN), to mark its 104th anniversary in Margao on April 10.
Announcing this at a press conference, GVN president Janardan Verlekar said the three-day celebrations will commence from April 8, at GVN, Margao while the final day's agenda will be felicitation of three personalities at the hands of the Chief Minister.
On April 8, at 6.30 pm, a play written by Pradip Apte and directed by Prof Anand Masur will be performed by GVN's Kala Vibhag at the Kare auditorium. On April 9, at 5.30 pm, Prabha Gaonkar will be interviewed by senior journalist Ashok Naik Tuenkar after which awards for literature will be conferred on Aurva Utkarsh Karpe and Prashanti Haresh Mangaonkar.
On April 10, the main function will commence at 6 pm where Dr VV Kamat will be decorated with the Keshav Anant Nayak Memorial Social Worker Award 2015. While Soyra Mohite will be conferred with Pirubai Dalal Memorial Swayamsiddha Award 2015, Karnataka Arogyadham, Ghatprabha will be honoured with Kashinath D Nayak Memorial Social Institution Award 2015 and Prabha Ganorkar will be honoured with Poet Damodar Atchut Kare Memorial “Gomantdevi” Award 2015.
GVN secretary Salil Kare and vice-president Suhas Naik were also present for the press conference.
