CM wants Goan engineers for toilets, but road contracts given to outsiders: AAP

PANAJI

It is indeed unfortunate that the Chief Minister of Goa Pramod Sawant is now offering Goan engineers the job of constructing toilets, said Aam Aadmi Party who ridiculed the chief minister’s latest offer.

AAP spokesperson Surel Tilve said the chief minister to camouflage his total failure to provide gainful employment to Goan youth is now asking them to take up the task of constructing toilets so that his party’s failure of providing employment can be covered up.

He said the chief minister has insulted Goan youth by asking them to build toilets. “The chief minister wants Goan youth to build toilets but for all other infrastructure development he wants outsiders like Adani,” he said.

Surel pointed out that engineers can design toilets and building toilets is the job of masons and accused the chief minister of likening engineers to masons without considering the years they spend studying their subject.

Surel expressed his shock and indignation against the CM for offering toilet construction jobs for Goans while offering wide and smooth roads and all facilities to the likes of Adani who are destroying Goa and Goan lifestyle.

He also pointed out that the bankrupt chief minister has not even begun thinking of preparing Goa for the period after the pandemic. “No economic policy is announced to revive the State that has taken such a beating due to the pandemic as there is practically no economic activity taking place in the state,” he said.

Surel pointed out that the tourism industry has fallen asleep due to the lockdown under which travel is prohibited.

“The mining industry had folded up years back thanks to Manohar Parrikar and now the tourism industry is dying thanks to Dr Pramod,” he said.

“In fact Goa is going through a disaster has even the foreign remittances of Goans working overseas has stopped as most of them are now at home in the pandemic,” he pointed out.
