Replying to the discussion on demands for grants to the Women and Child Development Department, Parrikar said that he came across one case where the person was actually had an annual gross salary of ₹9-lakh yet he had filed an affidavit saying that the annual income of his family is only ₹2.5 lakh in order to avail benefits under the Griha Aadhar Scheme.
"Strict action will be taken against these. Several families have also opted out of the Griha Aadhar Scheme after their incomes went above the 3-lakh limit," Parrikar said.
He also said that money for the beneficiaries was being sent to the bank accounts which is linked with the Aadhaar card and that in several other cases, the money bounces as the account is either dormant or inactive.
"All money is being disbursed. There is no shortage from our end," Parrikar said adding that there could be other reasons why people are not receiving the money.
He said that from October to December the beneficiaries would be renewed.
