Replying to the invitation Parsekar instead wrote back to the Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis seeking that the “meeting is convened after a fortnight and a few dates be suggested in advance so that a suitable date may be mutually agreed upon and the meeting finalised accordingly.”
On October 13, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis wrote to Parsekar inviting him for a meeting in Mumbai on October 21 saying that the meet will “definitely help in resolving the issues amicably in a friendly environment along with a true spirit of mutual cooperation and collaboration.”

Angered by Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar’s demand to defer the meeting of three CM’s on the Mhadei river water sharing issue, the Karnataka Navanirman Sene (KNS) burnt photos of CM Laxmikant Parsekar at Rani Channamma circle, here on Thursday.
Condemning the Goa chief minister’s absence at the proposed meeting on Thursday, the pro-Kannada organisation accused Parsekar of skipping the meeting to avoid an outcome on the Mhadei dispute.
As the Mhadei Water Disputes Tribunal had advised the states concerned to hold talks in the matter, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had taken the initiative to convene a meeting with Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Parsekar in Mumbai. Parsekar, however, had sought the postponement of the meeting on account of other scheduled appointments.
