MARGAO
Saying that the Congress is only day-dreaming to form an alternate government, the BJP on Friday asserted that the coalition government is strong and stable and will complete full five-year term in office.
Flanked by party South Goa ZP member Ulhas Tuemkar and party general secretary Santosh Kerkar, South Goa BJP spokesperson Sharmad Raiturkar further said the party leadership is aware of the mining issue and the hardships faced by the mining dependents, exuding confidence that the government will work out a solution to the mining issue.
“Since the mining problem involves legal issues, a solution is being worked out within the legal framework. We are all concerned about the mining dependents and I am confident a way out will be worked out soon by the government,” he said.
Sharmad said the Congress party led by Girish Chodankar appeared worried and started visiting the talukas after they came to know that thousands of BJP workers attended the meeting at Taleigao with Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar addressing the workers.
Reacting to the statement made by Margao MLA Digambar Kamat urging the workers to gear up for the Assembly election along with the Lok Sabha poll in 2019, Sharmad said the Margao MLA and the new Congress president should not dream too much on the stability of the coalition government, saying the government will complete its full five-year term.
Praising Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar for calling him up from the hospital in the USA to inquire about the sewage problem facing Comba ward, Sharmad said though the people of Comba had been facing the sewage issue, the Margao MLA has not taken steps to get the problem resolved.
“The Margao MLA should explain to the people about the bad condition of roads at Sirvodem, Colmorod and Rawanfond. He should also explain to Madgavkars the development he has ushered in Margao over the last 24 years,” Sharmad
demanded.
Saying the Congress-led UPA rule was marked by a host of scams, the South Goa BJP spokesperson dared the Congress to cite at
least one scam during the
tenure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
