The Colva police claim to have cracked a series of thefts reported in Colva around two months ago.
After examining CCTV footage from across the area and carrying out a detailed investigation, the police identified the suspect as Pappupali alias Santosh Pal, son of Purshotam Pali, aged 43, a native of Gawan in Uttar Pradesh. He was arrested from Rajpura in Uttar Pradesh and has been taken into custody in connection with the theft cases.
The police team, led by PSI Nikhil Khajnekar and including Sandesh Gadkar, Head Constable 6266, and Police Constable 7253 Brigesh from Colva Police Station, traced the accused through technical surveillance.
Police said the accused has confessed to committing the crimes and is linked to six theft cases. A white Activa scooter used by him during the offences has also been recovered.
