Spread awareness on voting rights

In a novel initiative, the Colva police organized a Public outreach programme spreading voting rights and responsibilities ahead of the May 7 Lok Sabha polls.
Held under the supervision of district police Chief, SP Sunita Sawant and DySP Salim Sheikh, the police progamme has stressed on minimum fitness, anytime, anywhere.
In fact, on two consecutive Saturdays, the Colva Police conducted two short programmes at Colva Beach and Colva Junction to enhance Public-Police relationship.
The Colva Police have approached public with theme of minimum fitness through fun walk-run, yoga etc.
They briefed the tourists, stake holders of tourist beach belt and general public as regards their rights and responsibility of voting in view of upcoming Lok sabha elections
The men-in-uniform has emphasized on Minimum Fitness which include three minutes of breathing exercise, one minute Plank and one minute Danda for core strength, besides 10 minutes (1 km) of Walk Run.
PI Satish Padwalkar informed that the police also made spread awareness on the 112/ 100 Police Helpline, 1930 Cybercrime helpline, 1091 woman and child helpline, besides cyber crime, internet and bank frauds awareness, Traffic safety and awareness and general precautionary measures
“The Colva Police will approach all the panchayat areas in the police jurisdiction from May 9 in their PublicReach programme to enhance PublicPolice relationship. The initiative will include Minimum Fitness for 15 minutes and Police Awareness for 15 minutes. The date, time and places will be intimated through village panchayats, sports in cultural clubs and village Whatsapp groups”, he said.
