The Agriculture Department has on Friday notified the community dairy farming scheme. The scheme intends to promote the community dairy farming with upgraded dairy technology.
As individual farmers have limitations of land and other resources while rearing of mulching animals at profitable basis. So the government has come up with the new scheme for community farming.
As per the scheme, minimum five unrelated farmers can come together and register themselves with registrar of cooperative societies and then submit the proposal to Agriculture department.
After the approval from the Agriculture department the farmers have to complete the infrastructure work within one year and then go for purchasing of high yielding mulching animals.
This scheme has been introduced to reduce cost of production by sharing infrastructure facilities like cow shed, bulk milk cooler, bulk milk parlour, feed mixing plant, cow dung pit, common store room, generator facility animal shed washer chaff cutter, etc.
The group of farmers should have at least 10,000 square metre land.
