Former ZP member Tukaram Harmalkar has said there is strong opposition among locals to the proposed concrete mixing plant in Dhargal.
“We welcome any and all pollution-free projects in Dhargal, but we strongly oppose projects that cause pollution,” warned Harmalkar while speaking to media persons on Thursday.
He claimed that the concrete mixing plant is being constructed near a residential area.
“This may cause air pollution and cause nuisance to the public,” said Harmalkar.
He appealed to the local panchayat to stop this project with the support of local MLA Pravin Arlekar.
“Locals have not asked for such projects and so, why are they being set up without taking locals into confidence,” asked Harmalkar, while demanding urgent action in the matter.
