Congress State president Girish Chodankar on Monday said the "crony capitalism pursued by the BJP governments at the Centre and in the State has made citizens paupers.
Addressing the media, Chodankar said financial mismanagement in Delhi and here in Goa has resulted in financial emergency all across the Nation.
" The BJP government at the Centre has adopted the single point agenda of pleasing the crony capitalist friends of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in last 6 years for selfish gains of the BJP Party," Chodankar said.
Today, the farmers of the country are on the roads for the high handedness of the BJP government, he said, adding that it will allow the rich and mighty to capture the produce of hard working farmers.
"The BJP government led by Dr Pramod Sawant has time to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries and organize virtual rallies with the participation of rich and the mighty, but unfortunately has no time to invite lesser privileged hardworking people like motorcycle pilots, rickshaw-taxi-tempo-bus operators, hotel- restaurants, bar owners, shack owners, mining dependants, bakers, cobblers, tailors, khajekars-fulkars- kakankars and other marginalized sector who are suffering huge financial losses due to collapse of economy," said Chodankar.
He also accused the Sawant-led government of a dictatorial streak for the decision to disallow legal recourse against the scrapping of loan interest subsidies under the House Building Allowance scheme for government employees.
