Cong criticises Guv's inaction

PANAJI: Congress spokesperson Trajano D’Mello on Monday criticized Goa Governor for not taking action against a minister found to be “in violation of his own oath.” He has also asked for the Governor to take serious cognizance of the situation.

D’Mello said the constitution in the State was being taken for a ride pointing fingers at Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar, who had been charged in a case by the High Court but continues to remain minister.

“I hope the Governor is not an instrument working with the government against the basic constitutional framework. The constitution has to provide equal rights to every individual. If the tourism minister is found to have done something wrong, he should be removed from his post,” he said.

He pointed to the BJP as a party calling them the guardians of the constitution against democracy and the voices of the people and criticized them of using and misusing the governor’s office.
