He, however, said that people of Fatorda would teach the Congress leaders a lesson again in the hustings like they did five years ago in 2012.
Commenting after the Returning Officer passed an order accepting the nomination form of Fatorda Block Congress president Joseph Silva for the Fatorda seat, Sardesai said that people of Goa will identify the persons who were all part of the group that hatched the conspiracy to field a candidate in Fatorda and teach them a lesson in the election. “The very same people, who had plotted to deny me the ticket in 2012 have all worked overtime to plot against me. People of Fatorda were shocked and surprised over the emerging developments and I am confident that they would teach these people a lesson," he said, adding people of Fatorda are well aware of these people.
Pointing out that he had been consistent in his opposition of the BJP during the last five years, Sardesai said, “If these Congress leaders can do such things to me, just imagine how they will deal with other people."
He, however, reminded that Goa Forward party has honoured its word by sticking to its promise to contest in only four Assembly seats.
