The Goa Forward Party has said the Congress has turned jittery over the party’s planned entry into Salcete as evident by GPCC Chief Girish Chodankar’s remarks that GF foray into the taluka is
nothing but Mission Salcete Forward III initially launched by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar.
In fact, Goa Forward senior leader Prashant Naik cautioned the State Congress president that he would not even know when the regional party would make deep inroads into Salcete. “Girish should know that the days of instilling fear amongst the people are finally over. By terming Goa Forward’s plan in Salcette as Mission Salcete Forward III, the Congress is trying to create a fear phobia amongst the people of Salcete,” he said, while exuding confidence that there will be no more takers for the Congress game plan in the taluka.
Saying that nothing will stop the GFP from expanding the party across the State, Naik demanded to know why the Congress uttered no word when the GF made its presence felt in Bicholim, Mayem and Ponda constituencies. “The Congress president did not deem fit to term our presence in Bicholim or Ponda as Mission Forward. Why has Girish decided to term our planned entry into Salcete as Mission Salcete III. This only goes on to show that the Congress has turned jittery as the party has nothing to counter the Goa Forward,” he said.
The Goa Forward leader further said that people of Salcete in particular and Goans in general will judge the regional party based on its work and functioning over the last several months. “Instead of instilling fear amongst the people, the GPCC chief should take care to guard the party citadel least the Goa Forward makes a big headway in Salcete and other parts of the State,” Naik added.
