MARGAO
The Mahila Congress Chief Beena Naik who led a delegation of mahilas to AICC Goa desk in-charge, Dinesh Gundu Rao has said the Mahila has made representation to the party leadership to nominate women candidates in the 2022 Assembly election.

Saying that the delegation of Mahila Congress had cordial discussion with the Goa desk in-charge, Beena said the mahila gave vent to their views and aspirations before Rao.

“He gave us a patient hearing and briefed us how we should go about in preparing for the coming Assembly election”, she said.

When asked whether the mahilas have staked claim for tickets for women in the Assembly election, Beena said the women in one voice requested to nominate women candidates in the election, saying the women are capable to handle the responsibilities.

She, however, termed as hypothetical the question whether the mahila has asked for certain number of tickets. “We will recommend names of women who have worked for the party for the tickets”, she added.
