The Congress has asked Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar to come clear on the recent seizure of 100 kilograms of ketamine from an industry owned by a BJP functionary at Pissurlem.
Chief Minister on Monday had refrained from making any comment on the issue stating that a central agency was conducting probe into the matter. Taking strong objection to Parrikar’s stand, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Girish Chodankar in a statement issued on Tuesday dared CM to come on record to declare BJP office bearers are not active in the drug trade business in Goa.
Chodankar said either the raid conducted by the central agency clearly indicated that the intelligence of Goa police had failed miserably or they have been providing protection to this factory since it was owned by a BJP leader.
“The seizure of ‘rape drugs’ is extremely serious. The ignorance of the State machinery cannot be digested as ‘yet another goof-up’,” he asserted.
Chodankar raised several questions, “How did such huge quantity of raw material required to manufacture the drugs landed in Goa? Who is responsible for stocking the drugs?”
