Cong sends notice to Vijai, demands Rs 25 cr compensation for defamation

MARGAO
The working president of the Fatorda Block Congress Committee, Yogesh Nagvenkar has sent a notice to the Goa Forward Chief Vijai Sardesai and has demanded compensation to the tune of Rs 25 crore for allegedly defaming the INC Congress, Fatorda without any concrete proof and evidence.

Nagvenkar said the Goa Forward Chief in his interview to the media had made certain derogatory and defamatory statements against the Congress party.

He said Sardesai has also made a statement claiming that his alliance with Congress continues.

“This itself again is a false and misleading statement since you are well aware that municipality elections are fought by individuals without any party symbol in his/her individual capacity, so the question of any alliance of the Congress party with your party does not arise at all. In this context, you are hereby notified that you in the zeal for winning over some votes have made malicious allegations against Congress. This act of yours is seriously taken by the Congress party and they are completely offended by this interim remarks”, he added in the notice.
