The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) has stepped up its organisational activities ahead of its September 22 outreach programme in the Curchorem constituency.
The party is focusing on grassroots mobilisation, unity among workers, better communication and stronger coordination between its state, district and block-level units.
Speaking after a block meeting in Curchorem, GPCC Working President Sunil Kawthankar said the party was reviewing its activities to identify initiatives that had made a direct impact at the grassroots level and strengthen them further.
“Our workers must remain connected with the people, respond quickly to local issues and ensure that proper feedback reaches the leadership,” Kawthankar said.
“The focus is on strengthening the organisation, empowering grassroots workers and ensuring that every local issue is properly tracked and followed up,” he added.
GPCC District President Rajesh Verekar stressed the need for organisational unity and said the Congress would raise issues affecting the common man, including land and public safety.
Verekar also said organisational appointments should be made after taking local workers and office-bearers into confidence.
Former Curchorem-Cacora Municipal Council chairperson Balkrishna Hodarkar called for greater importance to be given to grassroots workers. He also urged the party leadership to undertake introspection and take corrective measures to strengthen the organisation. The Congress leadership said a list of key local issues would be prepared, assigned to the leaders concerned and reviewed periodically. The move is aimed at strengthening the party organisation and preparing for the September 22 outreach programme.
