PANAJI: Goa Congress has decided to agitate the people of Goa in demand of the resignation of ailing Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar.
The party will hold protest meets in all talukas of Goa in demand of restoration of governance in Goa.
The first meet will be held at Bicholim on November 30 and the second meet will be held at Pedne on December 1.
'The next taluka meets will be announced subsequently," said GPCC president Girish Chodankar.
The Congress party on Tuesday held one-day token satyagraha at Azad Maidan.
Congress observer Dr. A. Chellakumar and MLA Tony Fernandes were present at the satyagraha.
While addressing media in the evening, GPCC president Chodankar said that a concluding grand meeting will be held at Lohia Maidan in Margao after a series of taluka meetings.
"The ailing CM is himself suffering by holding on to the post, neglecting the fact that his health is not permitting him to do so," said Chodankar.
"Since there is no active CM, the administration of Goa has collapsed. Many bills are pending, money of different schemes is not given to the people in time, the state is under financial crises," said Chodankar.
MLA Tony Fernandes said that alliance parties from the government itself are raising their voice about the functioning of the government. These allies should withdraw support to the government and join the Congress for the sake of Goa's future.
