Congress has written a letter to the President of India to appoint immediately a full-time Governor for Goa.
The party has said that Goa needs a full-time governor who will proactively address the concerns of Goans and work towards protecting the identity of Goa giving justice to the State.
Presently Maharastra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari is holding an additional charge as a governor of Goa.
On the occasion of Goa Statehood Day, the opposition party has raised the need for an independent Governor who can give justice to Goa and Goans.
The letter signed by the Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat and Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Girish Chodankar has brought to the notice of the President of India the urgent need to appoint a full-time Governor.
"As Goa is commemorating 60 years of Liberation, we don’t have a full-time Governor in the State of Goa for the last 9 months. The absence of this Constitutional Authority has resulted in complete chaos, mismanagement, and misrule in the Government Administration," the letter says, stressing the demand for a full-time Governor.
