All India Congress Committee observer Prakash Rathod, who is in Goa to oversee the ongoing Congress membership drive, on Friday lamented the slow internet connectivity experienced in the state despite 4G coverage.
Speaking to the media following a meeting with the members of Goa Pradesh Congress Committee, Rathod stated, “I am very sorry to tell you that in spite of the claim by the BJP government of having converted the country into ‘Digital India’, I find that the network in Goa is very slow. Though there is a 4G network in place in Goa, I find that in most of the places the network is not functioning at the speed of 4G as compared with the other states. I request the Goa government to take up this matter with the Department of Telecommunication to ensure that the entire Goa gets uninterrupted network connectivity.”
His remarks came with regards to the poor network connectivity faced by the ‘Janamitras’ of Congress Party while digitally enrolling the members.
Rathod further said that Congress is ready to face the elections anytime. “Congress membership drive is going on very well and all senior leaders, GPCC members, district members, block members are working towards registering record membership in Goa. Although there were some technical glitches due to poor network connectivity in Goa, we have now decided to go ahead aggressively with alternate arrangements to overcome the network connectivity issue,” Rathod added.
He said that the people are waiting to expose the failure of the BJP government by endorsing the membership of Congress and expressed confidence that GPCC will come out with flying colours and create history by getting more members as the drive goes ahead.
He was addressing a press conference at Congress House in Panaji in presence of the Leader of opposition Digambar Kamat, Co-ordination Committee Chairman Ramakant Khalap, District Observers Mansoor Khan and Sunil Hanumannavar and GPCC Vice President MK Shaikh.
