However, he was reluctant to reveal with whom the party will make an alliance.
Addressing a news conference in Ponda, Naik expressed confidence of winning both assembly seats in the by-polls. His son Roy Naik is contesting from Valpoi against the BJP candidate while Congress leader Girish Chodankar is contesting against CM Manohar Parrikar in Panaji. "The people are supporting us as BJP candidate did nothing for Valpoi constituency. They have reposed faith in the Congress and we are definitely winning," he said.
"The bigwigs of GFP and MG Party campaigned for BJP candidate, which proves that he is shaken to see the support Roy is getting," Naik said.
Naik also alleged that BJP amassed the gathering of womenfolk for their meetings by luring them. "But they will not vote for him. The women know that Congress can do development work. The BJP candidate even failed to bring Deputy Collector's office in Valpoi."
"We are fully prepared to form Congress government in the State. We will choose our leader unanimously," Naik said. However, he was reluctant to reveal who will be their coalition partners.
