MARGAO
South Goa MP Francisco Sardinha has reiterated his stand that Congress should not ally with any political party to fight the ensuing municipal polls.
When asked for his comments that Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat has insisted on an alliance with Goa Forward party to unitedly fight the civic polls to defeat the BJP, Sardinha shot back saying, “I reiterate my stand that Congress should not ally with any party to fight the municipal polls on the simple reason that the elections are fought on party lines”.
He said Congress should only support the good and right-thinking candidates in the polls.
When a scribe sought to know whether Congress should form an alliance for the Assembly elections, Sardinha evades a reply by questioning whether Assembly polls will be proposed by the government.
