Goa Forward Party Vice President Durgadas Kamat and former advocate general Dattaprasad Lawande left for New Delhi on Wednesday afternoon, in connection with the Special Leave Petition (SLP) filed by the Goa government challenging the high court’s verdict on ward reservations.
"We had filed a caveat in the Supreme Court and we have received a notice in this connection. This is why, we are leaving for Delhi," said Lawande, while speaking to reporters at Dabolim Airport.
Goa Forward Vice President Durgadas Kamat said they would meet our counsel Atmaram Nadkarni in New Delhi.
“Our party supremo Vijai Sardesai will not allow Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to destroy the constitution,” said Kamat.
Meanwhile in a Supreme Court computer generated listing system, the SLP filed by the Goa government is likely to be listed on March 8.
