Campaign to focus on gender equality

An awareness campaign with elocution competitions, poetry recital and competitions, painting competitions for school students and street-plays/skits, slogans, ideas of Parliament and other activities for the college students will be held to highlight issues of girl child especially female foeticide. The campaign will also focus on conscientiousness building on pre-conception and promotion of gender justice and equality.
This was decided at the meeting of the advisory committee under Pre-natal, Diagnostic Testing (PCPNDT) Act for North Goa chaired by Dr Shirley Ribeiro senior radiologist at North Goa Collectorate.
The Doctors designated as operators in various hospitals such as Healthway Hospital, Vrindavan Shalby Hospitals, St Cruz and Mapusa and Goa Scan Centre, Central Diagnostic Centre, Chodan, etc, were approved by the Committee. Also new registrations to hospitals were considered on the occasion. Earlier the minutes of the previous meeting of PCPNDT were read.
Senior gynecologist Dr Mahendra Ghanekar, member secretary, Gaurish M Dhond (Red Cross), Neena Naik, member (NGO), Dr AGK Dhakankar, John Aguiar, information officer and Aires Fernandes, technical officer attended the meeting.
