MAPUSA: The Additional District and Sessions Court at Mapusa granted conditional bail to the police constable and driver, Vikas Naik, who was accused of looting a Kudal native to the tune of Rs 34 lakh at Sangolda.
It may be recalled that on December 12, last year, Iqbal Memon had come down to Sangolda to exchange old demonetised currency notes, when four persons, posing as policemen, looted him and fled from the site.
Menon had filed a police complaint with Saligao Police. The accused police constable and driver, Vikas Naik was suspended and was later arrested by the Crime Branch, suspecting his involvement in the case.
On Monday, Naik was released on conditional bail with a personal bond of Rs 30,000.
The other accused, Sameer Satardekar, Vinit Shet, Paulo D'Cruz and Pritesh Mayekar, were released on bail in January.
