Copper cables, RRH unit stolen from Indus tower at Cortalim

Copper cables and a telecom RRH unit worth around Rs 1 lakh were stolen from an Indus Towers Limited site at Keserval, Cortalim, during the night hours between January 23 and January 24.

According to Verna police, unknown persons broke open the latch of the receptacle (shelter room) at the tower site between 8.30 pm on January 23 and 10.30 am on January 24 and committed theft of a 16 sq mm copper cable measuring 50 metres, a 10 sq mm copper cable measuring 25 metres and one RRH unit.

The complaint was lodged by Sagar Dessai, field officer of NISA Security Services, a resident of Old Goa. Based on the complaint, Verna police registered an offence under sections 334(1) and 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Carey Fernandes of Verna police station under the supervision of PI Anand Shirodkar and the guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
