PONDA
Almost 2 meters breadth of road is occupied by the barrels, where cars are parked very often. The road is narrow, but still trucks are parked along the roadside.
Adding more woes, since the last many months the free flow of vehicles is obstructed near petrol pump as barrels are kept on the road.
Traffic PI Ram Aasare said he has written to the deputy collector about the matter and has requested to take action against the person who has kept the barrels on the road.
"That obstruction on the road is creating a nuisance to the vehicles. It should be removed. Even trucks are parked everyday, though we have told them not to park. If we take action, they park the trucks there next day,"
Aasare said.
Sources informed that the traffic cell had also complained to Ponda Police to take action in the matter, but even they have failed to remove the obstruction and take action on illegal parking.
The Curti-Khandepar and Bethora-Nirankal gram sabhas had many a times discussed the issue of illegal parking of trucks along the bypass roads. The Curti Panchayat had told the villagers that a letter in this regard was sent to the Regional Transport Office.
Sources said the one who has obstructed the road has defied the request of traffic police and is continuing with the obstruction. "We told this person to remove the obstruction, but he is not listening
to us," source from traffic
cell said.
