PANAJI
Police on Sunday questioned Warren Alemao after summoning him over a complaint that his remarks in the wake of the Khattar controversy allegedly hurt religious sentiments.
Alemao, cousin of Leader of the Opposition Yuri Alemao, appeared before the Panaji police in the evening, accompanied by a lawyer.
He later told the media outside the police station that he is cooperating with the investigation and that a video of his remarks was “twisted”.
He said he “respects Sanatan Dharma”, will not seek anticipatory bail, and called the controversy a diversion from real issues.
Police said he has been summoned again on Monday.
