Cortalim MLA Anton Vas recently launched the rejuvenation of ponds and lakes in Cortalim constituency through the Amrut Sarovar Project taken up by the WRD.
Speaking to the media in the presence of Cansaulim Sarpanch Savio Periera, Panchas of Cansaulim panchayat and WRD officials, Vas said he had been following up and pursuing the de-weeding and cleaning of lakes and ponds in Cortalim constituency
“We have launched the project by pressing an amphibious machine to clean and de-weed the Modvodachem Tollem in Cuelim. We have started with one lake in this village and we will continue the works in around 4 more water bodies in the area,” said Vas.
“Besides Cuelim village, we will extend the project to water bodies like Chaudi Lake in Nauta and other parts of Cortalim Constituency through the Amrut Sarovar Project. As of now, we are taking up work at 6 lakes in Cortalim constituency and this is done to increase the water in the lakes and keep them clean.”
