Canacona Councillor Shubham Komarpant has submitted a memorandum to Kadamba Transport Corporation (KTC) Chairman and Navelim MLA Ulhas Tuenkar, demanding a daily bus service from Margao to Canacona after 8.30 pm.
While interacting with Tuenkar, Komarpant stated that many commuters, especially working class people travel back home from their work places, especially from North Goa.
He claimed that in the absence of a bus service at night, many people from Canacona get stranded in Margao, and added that a daily night KTC bus service would be of great help to people in Canacona.
Raising concerns about drunken driving by some KTC bus drivers, Komarpant stated those KTC bus drivers who drink and drive not only risk their own safety and the lives of scores of passengers in the bus.
Komarpant also informed Tuenkar about complaints from all over Canacona regarding rash movement of KTC EV buses.
He said the people have been complaining that since EV buses move silently and do not make any sound like diesel buses, the rash movement of these large vehicles catch other motorists and pedestrians by surprise and pose a threat to their lives.
The KTC chairman is believed to have directed the KTC director to look into the matter.

Komarpant has also reached out to donate a water pump with a pipeline which will benefit over 60 people in Mudkud“Agonda area.
On Friday, Komarpant along with the Shree Ravi Charitable Trust members donated the water pump with a pipeline to 60 people of Mudkud who cultivate Rabi crops.
