Court rejects bail pleas of 4 in Rs 20-crore fraud case

The Principal District and Sessions Court, Merces, on Thursday rejected bail pleas of four accused in a Rs 20-crore investment fraud case. Sarika Pilankar, Subhash Dhuri, Soma Gaonkar and Digambar Bhat, initially detained and later arrested, allegedly acted as agents to dupe victims.

The EOC said around 265 victims have complained. Five accused have been arrested, including alleged main accused Shivaji Walke, a chartered accountant and director of Bio Estate Solutions Pvt Ltd.

The case was registered on June 3, 2025, the accused were arrested in December 2025 and the charge sheet filed on March 

12, 2026.

PANAJITraffic restrictions for the State-level Independence Day celebrations at the Old Secretariat will begin on August 14, with DBB Marg fully closed from 8 pm until the function ends on August 15.
